Which mounting medium is recommended for the Removable Chamber 3 Well, Removable Chamber 8 Well, and Removable Chamber 12 Well?

For the Removable Chamber Slides, including the Removable Chamber 3 Well, Removable Chamber 8 Well, and Removable Chamber 12 Well, all common aqueous and non-aqueous mounting media can be used.

For mounting glass slides and coverslips after immunofluorescence staining, a hardening permanent mounting medium is recommended. Suitable examples include Fluoroshield™ from Sigma-Aldrich, Vectashield® from Vector Laboratories, and ProLong® Antifade from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

These mounting media help preserve fluorescence signals, reduce photobleaching, and stabilize the mounted sample for fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and long-term storage.

Recommended Mounting Media

  • Fluoroshield™ from Sigma-Aldrich
  • Vectashield® from Vector Laboratories
  • ProLong® Antifade from Thermo Fisher Scientific

Important Note

Always make sure that the selected mounting medium is compatible with your fluorophores, staining protocol, and imaging method.

The ibidi Mounting Medium is not recommended for the Removable Chamber Slides because it is non-hardening and remains liquid.
