When using fluorescent microscopy, how much light can cells be exposed to during live cell imaging without being damaged?

The general rule is that the least amount of light possible is best for the cells.

Additionally, we recommend doing control experiments with a very low light exposure (which will result in a bad image quality), just to test whether or not the cells’ behavior changes under heavy light exposure.
