Scientific Focus: Cell Culture Under Shear Stress, Perfusion & Microfluidics
The third International Cell Culture Under Flow Meeting will bring together scientists from vascular biology, immunology, barrier research, tissue engineering, microfluidics, and advanced 3D cell culture. The meeting will focus on how dynamic culture conditions, perfusion, fluid flow, and mechanical cues influence cell behavior in physiologically relevant in vitro models for disease modeling, drug discovery, and translational research.
The scientific program will cover blood–brain and placental barrier models, immune–vascular crosstalk, vascular remodeling, 3D vascular models, microfluidic engineering, and vascularized 3D cell culture. Additional topics will include endothelial mechanobiology, angiogenesis, vessel-on-a-chip systems, organ-on-a-chip technologies, microphysiological systems (MPS), tissue perfusion, vascularized organoids, spheroids, barrier function, cell–cell interactions, and advanced live cell imaging.
Participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their latest research, exchange technical expertise, and explore emerging technologies that are shaping the future of dynamic and perfused cell culture. Abstracts will be selected for oral presentations and posters.
An optional practical workshop following the meeting will provide hands-on training in cell culture under flow and perfusion using the ibidi Pump System.

By Car
Enter Biomedical Center Munich (BMC), Großhaderner Str. 9, 82152 Planegg into your navigation system. Please approach the campus via Am Klopferspitz, where the visitor parking area is located.
By Public Transportation
From Munich Central Station: Take the U1 or U2 to Sendlinger Tor, then change to the U6 (direction Klinikum Großhadern) to the final stop. From there, take bus 266 (direction Planegg) to LMU Martinsried. Alternatively, the Biomedical Center (BMC) is about a 10-minute walk from the Klinikum Großhadern station.
From München-Pasing: Take bus 56 (direction Fürstenried-West) to Klinikum Großhadern Ost and change to bus 266 (direction Planegg) to LMU Martinsried. Alternatively, take bus 259 directly to Martinsried and walk a few minutes to the BMC.
From Munich Airport (MUC): Take the S8 to Pasing and continue with bus 56 to Klinikum Großhadern Ost. Change to bus 266 (direction Planegg) and get off at LMU Martinsried. Alternatively, take bus 259 from Pasing directly to Martinsried.
Alternatively, take the S8 to Marienplatz, change to the U6 (direction Klinikum Großhadern) to the final stop, then take bus 266 (direction Planegg) to LMU Martinsried.
