Wound Healing | Migration | Culture-Inserts

Are the cells damaged when creating a gap with the Culture-Insert?

The Culture-Insert separates the cells from each other, without creating a wound in the classical sense (e.g., during a scratch assay). Its intended use is creating a gap without producing a large number of wounded cells, and then investigating the gap closure. This technique enables the user to uncouple migrational behavior of cells from cell damage.
