The fins of a transgenic zebrafish with fluorescently labeled collagen fibers were fixed and immunostained in a μ-Dish 35 mm, high Glass Bottom. The collagen fibers, which serve as the physical pillars in the thin fin tissue of zebrafish, were visualized by a GFP tag (green). Cell nuclei in S-phase were labeled with BrdU (red), and the nuclei of all cells that compose the fins were stained with Hoechst (blue). The image was taken using the Zeiss LSM 900 confocal microscope with a 20x objective.
