Mature human megakaryocytes with lobulated nuclei project extensive proplatelets (cytoplasmic extensions) to form platelets. Mature megakaryocytes were ex vivo differentiated from human hematopoietic stem cells. Blue: DNA; red: F-actin; green: beta 1 tubulin.
