ibidi was founded in 2001 as a spin-off from the Technische Universität München (TUM) and the Center of Nanoscience (CeNS) at the University of Munich (LMU). Since its inception, the company has continuously developed and is now a leading provider for innovative functional cell-based assay technologies utilized in academic research, applied testing, biotechnology and pharma.  Throughout its development, ibidi has remained a privately held company.

ibidi releases the µ-Slide family based on the µ-Slide I technology. The different µ-Slide designs are optimized for specific cell-based applications.
